Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded in 1969 by 13 people as a place where God’s Word is preached and taught, especially the central message of the whole Bible, the good news that God sent Jesus Christ as the Savior from sin for the whole world. For a brief overview of our congregation's history in a newspaper-like format, click here
We gather together to hear that good news every week during worship and have our faith strengthened through God’s Word and Sacrament. In faith and thanks to our Savior in whom we have the forgiveness of our sins, we proclaim His forgiveness to our neighbors and community.
Our mission statement is: “United by our faith in Jesus Christ and our confession of God's Word, the members of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church use the gospel in word and sacrament to win the lost for Christ, to nurture one another in Christian love, and to equip God's people for lives of Christian worship and service, all to the glory of God.”
Our congregation offers many opportunities for Christian fellowship and to grow in faith by studying God’s Word in our adult Bible classes
and Sunday school
Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church is part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The WELS is a conservative church body and the third largest Lutheran church body in America. Our synod offices are located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The WELS has over 400,000 baptized members, and is served by over 1,000 pastors.
The WELS has four ministerial education schools: Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, Wisconsin; Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota; Luther Preparatory School, Watertown, Wisconsin; and Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Saginaw, Michigan.
As members of the WELS, we share with our fellow believers in our synod's stated mission:
As men, women, and children united in faith and worship by the Word of God, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod exists to make disciples throughout the world for time and for eternity, using the gospel in word and sacrament to win the lost for Christ and to nurture believers for lives of Christian service, all to the glory of God.
